Welcome to the Homepage of the County Limerick Beekeepers' Association. For information about meetings and other plans for the near future and in the coming year as well as news of recent events please navigate to the Notice Board or use the hexagonal link top left of this page.

Meetings are usually held on the second Thursday of the month in the Mungret GAA clubhouse. The starting time is 8pm. See Notice Board for more recent info.

The County Limerick Beekeepers' Association is affiliated to the The Federation of Irish Beekeepers Assocations. Our aim is to promote the practice of keeping bees, this in a sustainable  and environmentally friendly manner such that it increases public awareness regarding the benefits of bees, their importance in pollination and to the entire ecosystem. 

Subject matter discussed  includes:  life in the hive, how bees communicate, beekeeping equipment, bee seasons, beekeeping problems, forage plants, diseases, honey harvests as well as the many benefits that one can get from consuming native honey and other hive products.
